As an accredited member of the Texas PTA, we join in their mission to make every child’s potential a reality. The NDECPTA does this by connecting local families through learning and play to foster growth at home and in our community.

Connect-
Since I joined the NDECPTA 2 years ago, I’ve most enjoyed connecting with other families. It is nice to run into other families when we are out and about. We are 175+ members strong, so you’re likely to find a friend who can offer a smile, support, or advice when you need it, whether it be at the park, Chick Fil A, or the grocery store. 

We also work to strengthen our greater Dallas community. Through the generosity of our members, we provide support to the women and children of Genesis Women’s Shelter; we fill children’s Christmas wish cards for Community Partners of Dallas; we partner with organizations such as Community Partners of Dallas, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, North Dallas Shared Ministries, to come alongside them and give back to the community. And of course, we continue our tradition of supporting the Dallas Public Libraries. We volunteer hands on service time while also teaching our children of the value of giving back through family service events.

Learn-
Monthly meetings are the crux of our organization. We welcome experts on a wide variety of topics: discipline, nutrition, running a household, and more. Being a parent is one of the wildest journeys we get to be on, and our speakers help me feel more prepared for the curves that ride might throw my way. And when I need help fast, I have a great network to turn to – just by posting a question to our members-only Facebook page.

Play-
Young children learn through play, so we do a lot of it! We arrange age-specific playgroups, as well as monthly Morning Coffees and Explore 214's for all members. Of course, mom and dad get to have fun too, through our Moms’ Nights Out, Couples' Nights Out, Couples’ Parties and other networking events. Check our calendar of upcoming events, and come play with us!

Grow-
We are growing – literally! Over 25 of our families welcomed a new baby last year. But we’re also growing by engaging and empowering our families as they weather those often-challenging early childhood years, becoming better parents – and people – in the process. 

I hope that you’ll consider connecting, learning, playing and growing with us! The more you get involved, the more you – and your children – will benefit!
